Cable and power notes
The hub is only half the chain — the cable is the other half, and it’s where setups go to die quietly.
Good cables matter. I’ve swapped a bundled cable for a cheap third-party one and watched a 10Gbps connection drop to USB 2.0 or start throwing disconnects under load. The cable must be rated for the full data speed and the full wattage — and the two aren’t the same rating.
USB-C PD wattage is printed on the cable (or should be). PD cables are typically rated 60W (3A) or 100W (5A); 100W cables are e-marked so devices know what they can carry.
